Description

LOUIS ARMSTRONG & ALL  STARS  – LIVE AT CINE PLAZA, Montevideo, URUGUAY, November 18th, 1957. Top rare 33 rpm double sided 12” metal acetate featuring unique live recordings made during one of the five shows Satchmo offered in Uruguay. A local radio station Radio Carve CX16 promoted this event and then  broadcasted and recorded one of these memorable series of concerts.  Side A opens with a brief introduction & short interview followed by the two opening tracks, Side B is all music, some commercial spots can be heard during the breaks, around 17 minutes of live music  in total. You can check the almost complete Side A by clicking on the small console here below. Visual grade for this item is VG, surface keeps its original gloss and shows hairlines & scuffs that are mostly cosmetic, except for a very thin scratch on the beginning of A side that causes a couple of skips (fortunately) during the boring  dj’s introduction, rest plays strong with some background surface noise and occasional clicks & pops, very enjoyable all in all. I thoroughly tested it on my system which consists on a Dynaco ST70 & Dynaco Pas 3, Pls. check video below. Do not miss the chance to get this unique piece of jazz history!!

Personnel: Louis Armstrong (trumpet & vocals) /  Trummy Young (trombone) /  Edmond Hall (clarinet)  / Billy Kyle (piano) /  Squire Girsback (contrabass) /  Barrett Deems (drums) & Velma Middleton (vocals)

We pack strong & professional!!
