LITTLE RICHARD ORIGINAL '56 EP on RCA w/ picture sleeve

The clown prince of rock'n'roll is decked out in his sharpest duds on the snazzy cover of this 4-song 7" Extended Play record in its original hard shell cover. A very nice-looking artifact in good good condition. This original US pressing finds Mr. Penniman in his finest form, with a groove that shows more mid-tempo swing & a dramatic blues presence. I could swear this sounds like it was recorded in New Orleans. Little Mr. Richard's classic Specialty sides are not terribly impossible to find, but this RCA nugget is a different story.

Great horns & piano throughout. Cuts are:

CONDITION: Illustrated cover looks pretty good. No marks, stains, writing, seam splits, stickers, ring wear or mildew. No corner banging. Beautiful rich unfaded color & sharp print. Tear on the front cover does not cover any part of Richard's photo or any of the print. It covers no more than 3% of the total front cover area. One tiny half-inch crease & a wee bit of speckling-very minor. Label is perfect: vivid colors, print & great spindle hole.

DISC: Record has also been well cared for. No skips, no sign of warping, no serious scratches. Play grading shows low-level wear with a low to moderate degree of surface noise. But this is a loud recording with deep horns & Little Richard's shouting voice that covers up much of the noise. (Matrix # H3 PH 1803-1S). I grade the cover as V- ("Very Good-Minus") & the disc as E ("Excellent").

E+ = Excellent +, Record shows very light wear, should play like new.

E = Excellent, Record shows light scratches/scuffs which should NOT be audible when played.

E- = Excellent -, Record shows light scratches and scuffs that MAY be audible.

V+ = Very Good +, Record shows moderate scratches and scuffs or wear that WILL be audible.

V = Very Good, Record shows moderate/heavy scratches and scuffs that WILL be audible and MAY skip.

V- =Very Good -, Record shows considerable scratches and wear. Good for a fill-in until a better copy turns up.

P = Poor, What can I say! Record is in poor condition, plays very rough. We will only offer P condition items if they are extremely rare or unusual.
