All records are played through prior to listing for accurate grading.

(NM or NM-) NM records are shiny with no visible defects such as writing, stickers or needle marks on the labels. The album cover should have no creases, folds, seam splits or any signs of human handling. It also will have no ring wear.

(VG+) or (Excellent) May show some slight signs of wear, including light scuffs or very light scratches that do not affect the listening experience. Slight warps that do not affect the sound are OK. Minor signs of handling are OK. The cover might be marred by a cutout marking, small hole punch, a cut in the spine or a promotional stamp and even a tiny bit of ring wear.

(VG) Have more obvious flaws such as lack of gloss, groove wear, light scratches and needle marks. When played there will be surface noise that will not overpower the music overall. Noise in the passages, between songs is common. The cover may have minor seam splits, writing, tape, stickers, ring wear and scuffs.

(VG-) Is just a compounding of the VG category. Many obvious flaws but if the record is rare, may very well be worthwhile. I do not list records lower the above grades.

Remember, when you are bidding, most of these records are usually 50+ years old and have been out of print for a very long time. When you consider that, damage, loss, and normal use or wear has reduced the market to the point that few of these wonderful treasures are even available today.

I ship worldwide and accept Paypal, Cashier's check, or personal check. My auctions usually close Saturday or Sunday and I ship the next day (Monday morning) with a delivery confirmation or Customs Declaration. If you are not getting your albums within a few days, check with your post office.

POSTAGE RATES

Due to an increase in our postal rates as of May 11th, 2009 my shipping rates will have a small increase. Media Mail Rates in the United States will remain $4.00, no change. Shipments to Canada will be as follows; $9.00 for 1 album and $4.00 for each additional album. Asia, Europe and South America: $17.00 for 1 album (an increase of .70 cents). Additional albums will be discounted $9.00 per album. These changes take place May 15, 2009.

I have shipped over 5,000 albums since 1998 and have never had an album lost or delivered damaged.

FROM MY PERSONAL COLLECTION: Purchased in the Record Department of Rhodes Department Store in Tacoma, Washington in early 1960, this wonderful classic album has been close to me for many years. It is now time for some lucky collector to enjoy its company as I have done. Someone will be the very proud owner of The Rocking 50's and recorded in 1959 on the Atlantic label 8037 in High Fidelity. Atlantic used a transitional, or experimental label, for some of its issues in 1959. The label is white with black printing. For the mono labels, there is an red, purple and black fan around the center hole of the record. "ATLANTIC" is at the top of the label in an orange and purple band that extends around the perimeter of the label. On stereo releases, the band around the outside of the label is green and blue as is the fan colors in the center of the record. This label may not have been used on any new releases but only records that previously had the black label, or it may have been an experimental label and used at the same time the black labels were being released. The very thick album cover is just plain stunning and one that perhaps is the nicest one available. The only flaw is a 2" seam split on the bottom seam in the middle. I just got a little careless putting it away many moons ago. There is no ring wear, discoloration, scuffs, tears, writing or wrinkles and the back is just as sweet. There is a history of the Rocking 50's beginning in 1950, in back. It's a great history lesson for anyone who has a dime's worth of passion about this greatest time of Rock & Roll. The record is just out of sight to look at and the labels have few very light spindle marks. Inspected under a 100 watt light, there are no feelable scratches, scuffs or grooves and few light surface scratches or paper cuts. It's beautiful folks. The record was played just prior to listing and it was my own private concert and a wonderful one at that. No sticks, skips, loud pops or noisy hisses. I was joyfully listening to the best of the best. Side 1, 1950 (Ruth Brown, Teardrops from My Heart), 1951 (Joe Turner, Chains Of Love), 1952 (The Clovers, One Mint Julep), 1953 (Clyde McPhatter, Money Honey), 1954 (Joe Turner, Shake Rattle & Roll), 1955 (La Vern Baker, Tweedle Dee). Side 2, 1955 (I've Got A Woman), 1956 (Ivory Joe Hunter, Since I've Met You Baby), 1957 (The Bobbettes, Mr. Lee), 1958 (Chuck Willis, What Am I Living For), 1959 (Ray Charles, What'd I Say), 1959 (The Drifters, There Goes My Baby). There it is folks, The Rocking 50's. I have had the pleasure of being the guardian of his wonderful album. Now it's time for a new guardian. This album belongs to a true 50's collector and one who will care for it. Just think about it before bidding. Thank you. Based on the Goldmine Guide, the album is graded NM-, the listening experience "HEAVENLY" and the record VG+++. There is no reserve.
