REGARDING MY 2 NEGATIVE FEEDBACKS :
I am writing this because I have no other way to fight back. I have been selling records on e-bay for over 7 years plus had an e-bay record store. In almost 1800 transactions, up until now, I received 3 or 4 negative feedbacks, all left without contacting me. Any disagreements over grading was always resolved by a partial refund or a full refund.
Now, with e-bays new policy, a seller cannot defend themselves against unfair feedback so I am using this to defend myself.
Negative #1 from balekan : RECORD NOT AS DESCRIBED. BAIT & SWITCH. NO RESPONSE AFTER PAYMENT WAS MADE
My reply : THIS NEVER HAPPENED AND I'VE NEVER BEEN ACCUSED OF IT, GUYS A HOSTILE CRAZY
The same record sold a few weeks later with the following positive feedback : Great find! Thx!
Negative #2 was from a person who stretched the truth, zip_n_ship, he chose to leave negative feedback based on personal feeling, not on my record. I chose not to take his banter and defend myself and because of that I get a negative. Note the negative was not based on the record but our e-mails back and forth. Also keep in mind that the centerfold could have easily been glue back in thus showing no sign of damage.
His negative feedback : GAVE THIS GUY A CHANCE ~ CALLED ME SARCASTIC, A JERK & UGLY ~ WRITE ME FOR INFO
My comments are in blue, his in red
Hello:
I received the LP today and when I opened up the gatefold, the entire center of the inner booklet fell out in my lap.
Near mint- means near mint-.
I'm returning it for a full refund and return shipping costs. I'll include Delivery Confirmation.
Hope to hear from you at your earliest convenience.
Regards,
KJG- zip_n_ship
Dear zip_n_ship,
The jacket was graded vg+ to nm-, not just nm-. I know what nm- is, I don't need your sarcasm. You chose to have it sent media mail, not priority. The booklet was totally intact when I sent it, it was not loose which I imagine was a result of getting tossed around in media mail.
That said, a refund is no problem.- rareman1000
I'm sarcastic, am I? And it's all my fault because you sent it Media?
You know, I saw what the one negative feedback did to your score and then I read your paragraph asking buyers to give you a chance. I felt really badly because I've been through the same thing at one time or another with a jerk or two over the years.
So I gave you a break and now, just because I had to send a record back, you're having a problem with it. The package was wrapped so well that it impressed me. How it could be tossed around in the mail enough to pull the inner booklet apart is beyond me. I bought the same LP when I was about 13, and it took years for the inner book to fall out.
Recently, I have received dozens of Beatles albums from the top Ebay sellers and you are one of only two sellers who advertised an item as Very Good Plus-Plus To Near Mint Minus and shipped something that, in my opinion, didn't match the grading. All I wanted was a refund. Now, you've pissed me off.
It's not sarcasm. Very Good Plus-Plus to Near Mint Minus is usually (in my experience) a top shelf LP. In fact, you made it sound as if the LP was hot off the press.
My father used to say that "Nice guys finish last". That said, I'll never again buy from seller whose feedback is less than top grade.
Thanks a lot. Your email simply made my day.
I expect my full refund, including return shipping at your earliest convenience.
Regards,
Yes, you are sarcastic. I have on all my listing a priority mail option. E-bay does not allow to list priority mail. So I do not have that option, you do.
In over 1700 record transactions, anyone that had a problem with my grading, I resolved, just like I am with you, giving a refund.
Yes, I do resent the fact you think I sold that with the center piece loose, I don't do business like that, it did come loose during delivery. In the one negative feedback you like to mention, that record sold a week later with positive feedback.
I'm so sorry I've pissed you off but you are like the jerks you mentioned in your letter. Did that occur to you?
I've told you you'll get a refund but you want to ramble on.
Some people just want to be ugly.
Regards,
GRH
?
I'm sarcastic. I'm a jerk. I'm ugly.
Wow.
I'm curious, you told e-bay I refused to issue a refund. Yet when I look at my first e-mail and last to you, I said a refund is no problem.
Can you explain that?
Well, you still haven't issued a refund, have you? I have records of each and every time I've asked, and you still haven't issued my full refund, including return shipping costs. So what's your problem? Issue the refund. (He wants me to issue a refund even though I have not recieved his returned record)
I still don’t have a returned record. No record, no refund
E-bay refunded his money the day I received the record and has refused to change his negative feedback.
PLEASE NOTE : MOST OF THESE ALBUMS ARE MANY YEARS OLD. EVEN THOUGH I MAY RATE IT A VG++ or NM-, IT IS BASED ON VISUAL GRADING AS I CANNOT LISTEN TO ALL THE ALBUMS I LIST. SOME WILL CONTAIN LIGHT TO MODERATE BACKGROUND NOISE. I CANNOT HELP THIS AS IT IS WHAT IT IS. IF YOU CANNOT HANDLE THIS THEN PLEASE DO NOT BID or BUY. THANKS FOR YOUR UNDERSTANDING.
I'LL GIVE A MONEY BACK GUARANTEE IF NOT PLEASED

GRADING SYSTEM :
SS........STILL SEALED
NM…….…Near Mint.......close to a Still sealed condition
NM-……..Near Mint Minus, A record that looks like it has been recently taken from a sealed album but been played less than 4 times. May have some surface scuffs from sleeve, superficial only. Still has the original luster, the vinyl shines and sparkles almost new.
VG++ to NM-......Better than VG++ but not quite NM-. Somewhere in between.
VG++.....Very Good ++, light surface age abrasions are visible, many as a result of the record going in & out of sleeve.. May have a few lighter surface marks, hairlines or needle tracks which should not materially effect play While these are present, the record still maintains the original bright luster. In other words, the superficial marks should not affect the sound quality of record. The record should play without noticeable or very light background noise which you only hear between tracks or quiet parts.
VG+......Very Good + - a used, reasonable copy. There will be signs of wear and the possibility of light surface noise between tracks or during quiet passages, but still quite nice.
VG........Very Good – Shows obvious signs of wear, has surface scratches that you can probably hear, but should still play good and it should not skip.
JACKET GRADING
NM-....Has sharp corners and no visible blemishes, a jacket that looks like it has not been handled much.
VG++.....a jacket with only minor shelf wear, may have light ring wear. no seam splits. it could have a name written somewhere but the name is really not distracting. an album that has been stored properly, standing up
VG+.....a jacket that has been handled properly, but does show its age. may have shelf/record wear, minor seam splits, writing, misc.flaws but is still intact.
VG.....A jacket that does have noticeable shelf or ring wear—more than a 3” seam split. may have wear to corners, shows distinct wear from handling. there may be ringwear or minor discoloring, may have edge and spine wear.
VG-......A COVER THAT HOLDS THE RECORD.
SYMBOLS
AS – age spots from record sitting in plastic sleeve, should not affect play, KINDA LEAVES A PATTERN LOOKING LIKE CLOUDS. This in not considered in grading as it does not affect the play, just the looks.
cc – Cut Corner
dh = drill hole in label or jacket or cut corner on cover
cw = cover wear, age spots or ring wear, usually not too bad dj = disc jocky or promo issue, usually but not always white label, sometimes promo stamp on label
ST = number or name sticker on label or cover
WR – writing in pen or ink on label or cover
SS – seam split, will have a number with it indicating how many inches long the split is, SS4 = 4” Seam Split
LSP – light spindle marks
RH or LH – right hand or lh side or corner
CW – Corner wear, 1 or more corners a bit worn but not bad
Each listing will, if needed. have a scale behind it like CW7 ( corner wear )
This scale is 1-10, 1 being the worst, 5 being medium 10 being no wear. CW7 would be medium to light wear, 9 would be very light wear but hardly noticeable
