LETTERMEN RELATED VINTAGE 1963 CAPITOL RECORDS LETTER

This is a vintage Lettermen-related letter on Capitol Records letterhead dated April 29, 1963.  This letter was written by Karl Engemann, Director of Artists & Repertoire Administration at Capitol Records, who was instrumental in the Lettermen's career, as well as being Letterman, Bob Engemann's older brother.  The letter was sent to Hite Morgan, who had been instrumental in "discovering" The Beach Boys with his wife Dorinda and recording The Beach Boys first single (this husband and wife duo were also songwriters and publishers).  The content of this letter is to inform Hite Morgan that although The Lettermen and Capitol Records appreciate the submission of the song, "Lavender", for consideration for a forthcoming Lettermen album, but they "... do not feel this piece of material is particularly for them".  The letter is boldly signed by Karl Engemann.  This letter was obviously folded for mailing, but apparantly has been stored flat for many years, so the folds are only lightly visible, and overall the letter does show light aging.  What's COOL, is that when the letter is held up to a light, the image of the Capitol Records building at Hollywood and Vine is visible as a watermark.  This is a RARE & COOL Letterman/Capitol Records collectible, make sure you bid on this today!!!
