From 1974, out of New York, comes Leo Jones with his album Fire Engine And Crossover on Mirrosonic CS7237 private. ULTRA RARE PRIVATE PRESS!! This record is great as well as rare! It deserves more hype than three quarters of the records out there that go for huge sums! Two song album, one song each side. Leo Jones plays the trumpet and is joined by some junior high school students on electric guitar, electric clavinet an electric piano,electric bass, acoustic bass and flute, drums, conga, afucha,maracas and bongo. Great sidelong jams with effects creating  a spooky atmosphere! Excellent use of instruments creating a funky, psych, prog and jazz sound all at the same time! This album is great and it really has to be heard to be intensely appreciated! Leo Jones studied for several years with Bill Dixon and has received grants from NYC's Dep't. Of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs for his work with the Lower East Side Community Music Workshop.The organization was co-founded by Leo Jones with the goal of encouraging musical creativity. He is obviously the perfect person for this job! The way out sounds of Miles Davis in the Bitches Brew era, is the closest I can come to describing this record! Nice thick cover with information sticker glued on.
