Description
LEE MORGAN “Candy” Blue Note 1590, “P”, “RVG”, DG, Original Mono Vinyl
This is the 1957, first edition, DG, mono, “RVG” stamped, “P” pressing of LEE MORGAN’s “Candy” on the “47 West 63rd labels of Blue Note BLP 1590. Musicians include Lee Morgan, Doug Watkins, Sonny Clark, Art Taylor.
VINYL plays with consistent, low-to-medium volume level surface noise, with pops and ticks, some repeating. Noise most prevalent on ballads. Many hairline marks, some feelable; worst offender 1½” mark on Side 2, #1, which results in briefly repeating tick. The Deep Grooved, “47 West 63rd” labels (No “R” under “Note”) are clean with spindle wear evident under direct light. See photos.
Front LAMINATED COVER is in excellent condition. Seams and spine in very good condition, no splits. Small split top seam near opening. The “BLUE NOTE RECORDS, 47 West 63rd St., New York 23” back jacket is in very nice shape; aging; see photos. See photos!
This LP was play-tested on a high-end system consisting of Music Hall MMF-7.3 turntable/Ortofon Bronze cartridge, Heed Audio Elixir integrated amplifier, Heed Quasar Phono stage and Quad S2 speakers.
