I HAVE TO GIVE AN OVERALL GRADING OF "FAIR" TO THIS RECORD TO STAY TRUE TO GOLDMINE STANDARDS. BUT, I HAVE PROVIDED SEPARATE GRADING FOR EACH SIDE BELOW. THIS WILL BE A GREAT STARTER COPY AS IT HAS BEEN FOR ME! IT IS ENJOYABLE TO LISTEN TO IN SPITE OF A COUPLE OF ISSUES. READ ON...
SIDE 1 --> FAIR, many small scratches and scuffs on both sides. I have PLAY TESTED this side on my equipment and it plays through side 1 WITH 1 SKIP at the beginning of Track A4 (Thank You). I don't see why it skips there and maybe it won't on your equipment. Maybe it will. There is also a pressing "discontinuity" on Track A1 that I believe causes a noticeable, quick "lurch" (but not a skip) in the middle of Track A1 (Whole Lotta Love) during the instrumental interlude. There is crackle throughout the entire side, especially noticeable in the quieter sections like beginnings of songs and quieter moments. Side 1 has two noticeable scratches (but still not feelable) across tracks 1,2,3 that don't add additional clicks or pops, labels are clean with slight spindle marks (SEE PHOTOS) 
(listen to the first 45 seconds of Whole Lotta Love in the video I posted) The crackle you hear is as bad as it gets and it isn't as noticeable when the music gets loud. And, the crackle isn't as bad on Side 2. If you want 1 or 2 more videos, I am happy to send you a video of the skip on "Thank You" and something from Side 2.
SIDE 2 --> GOOD PLUS, many small scratches and scuffs on both sides. I have PLAY TESTED this side on my equipment and it plays through WITH NO SKIPS. Track B1 (Heartbreaker) sounds great! So powerful. And that transition to Track B2 (Living Loving Maid)! Sounds incredible every time. Track B5 (Bring It On Home) sounds fantastic. The whole of Side 2 is the better sounding side with less (but still noticeable) crackle overall.

Despite the issues described above, I enjoy listening to this copy! It sounds great.
Jacket: VERY GOOD, gatefold, NO SEAM SPLITS, no writing, some edge wear, rounded corners, some discoloration and ring wear front and back cover. All in all, I've seen a lot worse. (SEE PHOTOS)

• US 1st pressing, featuring Robert Ludwig's "hot" mastering on both sides. These were withdrawn early because the high bass levels caused low-grade cartridges to mistrack, leading people to return the album on the belief that it was defective. Another engineer was then hired to recut a much less "hot" version of the album, and that is the far more common version.
