Description
LED ZEPPELIN-II (Atlantic SD 8236) This is the original Robert Ludwig mastered US pressing with "RL" clearly etched in the deadwax of each side. These were pulled off the market after the first run, and replaced with a quieter and tamer cut of the record. Cover is VG+ with some light wear, no major issues. Record is nice for the most part but has a couple of issues. A short scratch on side one is audible at the end of the first loud section of "Whole Lotta Love," and continues to click for the first few revolutions of the quiet psychedelic freakout section, about 30 seconds overall. The other issue is a couple of scratches on the drum solo of "Moby Dick," which click throughout the solo and make this section rather noisy (the rest of the cut plays fine). The remainder of the LP just has some light hairlines and plays a solid VG+ or better, with the full fidelity this pressing is known for. I've graded the LP an overall VG, but aside from the two sections described the whole thing sounds great. The original period-correct Atlantic catalog inner is here as well.
