This red / plum pressing plays with stunning quality, the clarity and depth of the audio on both sides is incredible and it is clear it has only been lightly played. Nothing falls below a Near Mint grading that's how clean and clinical the audio is. There are no ticks, clicks or pops and barely any static. The lack of distortion is another stand out feature and for once 'When The Levee Breaks' plays with superb sonic quality which is a genuine rarity as we all know. 'Stairway To Heaven' again plays with remarkable clarity and definition - this is easily one of finest Led Zepp IVs I have ever listened to. The vinyl is in superb condition also with just one small insignificant mark.
The iconic cover is in excellent order overall and the only issue is one small split on the bottom edge of the back cover. Aside from that it is stunning, it is unmarked on the front and back cover. The paper inner sleeve has also been very well preserved with only small edge splits and one tear on the top edge. No marking either. This transitional pressing from '72 has the new K50008 catalogue sticker on the back cover. It is known as Version 8a and has everything correct on the labels!

Visual description
The vinyl is in lovely condition and still holds a superb glossy sheen with no obvious marks or scratches. S1 does have a faint thumbnail mark across the first track and a finer hairline but they have no affect on the audio, they are superficial. Aside from that the vinyl is stunning and under a bright light I can only find a handful of ultra faint small hairlines. S2 is stunning and then some! There is no groove or surface wear and the run outs are super clean also. The red / plum labels are in superb condition with hardly any spindle wear on S1 and only a minimal amount on S2.
Play Grading
Page's 'warming up' intro on 'Black Dog' plays with great clarity and Plant's opening vocal section has no background either. It continues in the same way - the audio is so strong and deep and the first Oh yeah vocal passage has none of the static distortion that you so often find. The power and definition of the audio stands out and the rare quieter 'moment' has no interference. There are no ticks, clicks or pops and I only heard a minor hint of background static a couple of times but it is so quiet and hardly deserves a mention. Page's final solo is superb - so strong and dynamic and there is no distortion on the top end. The fade out is so clean also. I'll say Near Mint although that could be considered a little harsh!
'Rock And Roll' plays with immense quality from the word go. Bonham's supercharged percussive opening is 'as new' as is the rest of the intro. The first vocal is just as impressive and this high end level is kept up. Plant's vocal is so clean and precise and Bonham and Jones add their usual class. The mid instrumental is a prime example of that, the sound quality is STUNNING! The next vocal is equal to that and you can easily hear the piano on the final third of this classic. From start to finish this is a phenomenal version and you can turn it up to the absolute max without it affecting the sonic quality. Try it during Bonham's final percussive flourish. Wow! This is a sublime Mint- version at the very least.
The quiet build up on 'The Battle Of Evermore' plays with exceptional clarity, you barely notice any static. The opening vocal from Plant in conjunction with Denny is faultless and the first 'chorus' is just perfect. From then on it plays so clearly and there is nothing to detract from the audio. For once there is no static distortion, a rarity you could say, and the more I listen to it the more I am impressed by it! I 'picked up' just one barely audible static - there is no interference whatsoever and each note is just so clean and the long fade out has no background either. A stunning Mint- version and it's not often you find one of those!
The acoustic intro on the classic 'Stairway To Heaven' plays with wonderful clarity and there are no ticks, clicks etc. A superb start. The opening two verses are more or less the same with only a couple of barely audible statics. The first It makes me wonder... vocal plays with real depth and warmth and again there is no intrusion. The next two verses abridged by another ...makes me wonder section again plays with great clarity, perhaps just a shade below the previous section but still damn good, I am being very picky! The following instrumental is flawless and as Bonham comes in the audio is superb. The audio definition is 10/10, 'as new' basically. Seriously the depth and warmth throughout this section is stunning and Page's 'strumming' section has barely any of the distortion you regularly find. The solo is incredible and Plant's high octane vocal is equal to that. I am really struck by the clean sound here because again it is so often impacted by distortion but not here! This is one of finest versions of this classic I have heard in a long time. The closing instrumental is just as impressive and the final quiet vocal has only a minimal amount of static right at the end. I think Near Mint is a fair assessment of the audio, it truly is an exceptional version.

The intro on 'Misty Mountain Hop' has zero intrusion and the opening vocal is on the same level. It continues to play with that familiar rhythmic power and sonically it is superb. Plant's vocal is so clean precise and instrumentally it could not be any stronger. The instrumental section just beyond the halfway mark is a case in point - sometimes you 'forget' to listen to these sections - don't! This particular instrumental is dripping in depth and Bonham's drums throughout this classic are immense - as per usual! The concluding vocal is flawless and overall this easily deserves a Mint- grade at the minimum, it is an outstanding version.
'Four Sticks' keeps up this fine standard with impeccable quality through every vocal and instrumental section. The deeper more powerful sections where Jones' bass is very much in the forefront are STUNNING! I cannot rate this version highly enough - once again the sonic quality can only be described 'as new' and the 'keyboard' section towards the end more than exemplifies that. This is MINT from start to finish.
'Going To California' plays to a very similar standard. There are no ticks, clicks or pops and I only heard a couple of very brief, quiet static 'moments' which clearly are not intrusive. It almost seems a little 'mean' to downgrade it because the clarity of sound is superb so I will say Near Mint+
The intro on the classic 'When The Levee Breaks' is strong and powerful and clean and has barely any of the distortion so often associated with it. The opening vocal section is just as impressive and the first instrumental bridge is perfect. Plant's next 'high end' vocal is stunning and it continues to play with phenomenal quality. Indeed the mid instrumental is STUNNING! It's a 'busy' track of course but I am so impressed by the clarity and definition of sound here and it is without question one of the cleanest most accurate versions I have heard in many a year. Like I said it is so often riddled with distortion but that is not the case here at all. The final third is often affected but again the playback is so clean and 'fresh' sounding. What. A. Version! The final Going down vocal is perfect and Page's final coda has no intrusion either. It's not often you find a Mint- version of this classic but I do believe we have one here!
The Gatefold & Inner Sleeve
The cover is in lovely condition with only minimal wear and there is nothing that stands out. Only the bottom edge of the back has a little rubbing in the centre and near the corners and the others are exceptionally clean. The spine is superb and all corners are in great shape with hardly any wear. The opening edges are pristine with no handling wear and the front cover is stunning with just one small crease by the top left corner. The back cover is very clean also but does have a little creasing by the bottom left corner and I have just noticed that rubbing in the centre of the bottom edge has resulted in a small split albeit a clean one. The K5008 sticker remains in perfect condition. The inside of the gatefold is unmarked, it really is in superb shape, and has only light creasing at the foot of the inner spine on both sides. Aside from that one small split this iconic cover is in great condition.
The original paper 'lyric' inner is largely intact and is super clean with no marking. It has one small tear on the top edge of the lyric side but has just one very small bottom edge split which makes a change! It's only about 3/4cms long. The left edge has a slightly larger 6cm split and the right edge has a tiny barely noticeable one. Not a perfect inner but it is easily one of the best I have seen in quite a long time, they are usually a lot more damaged than this one!

I will only send items items worldwide via tracked shipping. This provides 'peace of mind' in case of loss or damage. The shipping costs are shown below and combined shipping is always offered. Any over-payment will always be refunded.
The Royal Mail only insure up to a value of £250 so if an item sells for more it may be wise to use a courier service (e.g. Parcelforce or DPD). An extra insurance premium will be required but I will not know the exact amount until the final sale price is known. Because of this I will sometimes have to estimate the cost and this will be shown in the listing. All vinyls are packaged in strong over-sized custom made mailers with plenty of extra cardboard protection. They are placed inside separate poly-lined inners outside the cover so as to avoid seam splits in transit and then placed inside a PVC sleeve to provide even more protection. I pride myself on my high quality packaging as my feed confirms and if any customer has any specific requirements I am more than happy to help.
The mailers I use cost £1.00 each and I will use anything between 3-5 cardboard stiffeners which cost approx £0.18 each. There is also the cost of the poly-lined inner and PVC sleeve to consider, it all adds up! Not forgetting that eBay take 10% of the shipping fee also!!
