This is a rare UK early orange Atlantic press of Led Zeppelin IV. Released in 1971, this LP was originally released on the plum Atlantic label with the 2401012 catalogue number. Later when the Kinney system was introduced a few were printed with the original catalogue number and the new system K number. They were also hand engraved Porky and Pecko Duck, just like the original presses. The labels have none of the later symbol additions and the inner sleeves are still made of the dark brown paper, not the light brown later design. Most importantly they are still on the original heavy weight vinyl, not the flimsy reissue quality and as such the excellent sound quality is exceptional to this colour label and press.
The record is in Excellent condition. The vinyl has a sensational high gloss, every track gleams. The vinyl has the original jet black shine and the grooves show no sign of use. There are just a couple of the very lightest hairlines but these do nothing to spoil this vinyl, it is fabulous. The label is also superb. The colours are vivid and the white is bright. The text is sharp and there is just the very slightest spindle wear.
The sound quality is Excellent. The vinyl sounds sensational, bold and vibrant. There is Excellent audio separation throughout and a rich complete sound.
The dark brown printed inner sleeve has one small edge split but it is still very solid, completely clean and bright. The matt gatefold sleeve is in Excellent condition. The picture is still bright and the colours are still warm and bold. There is the slightest edge wear. The inside is completely clean, the black is solid and the picture is sharp. The whole sleeve is extremely solid. 586 (GS 6.8 (586))
