Kinks: Village Green Preservation Society, SWE Pye 1968, mega rare 12 track issue. This is the Mega Rare original Swedish 12 issue of this classic Kinks LP. Originally the UK test-pressing came with these same 12 tracks. The tracks are: THE VILLAGE GREEN PRESERVATION SOCIETY, DO YOU REMEMBER WALTER, PICTURE BOOK, JOHNNY THUNDER, MONICA, DAYS, VILLAGE GREEN, MR. SONGBIRD, WICKED ANNABELLA, STARSTRUCK, PHENOMENAL CAT, PEOPLE TAKE PICTURES OF EACH OTHER. Some of the mixes sound quite different from the stereo version you usually hear (haven’t heard the MONO). In the UK this only came as a test pressing, but in Sweden and France (at least these two countries), however, it came as a real issue. Very limited, as it was drawn back quickly. This is a clean copy of the much rarer Swedish issue, with a cool black and white cover. Cover is Excellent, no problems to mention, only very light edge wear. Disc is very clean Excellent. Two or three light surface marks that doesn´t sounds at ll. Has some light surface noise IN BETWEEN tracks only. Plays Great with no distortion or noise. A very shiny disc. I have seen a few worn copies of this, but only one other copy in comparable condition. So this is easily what you call MEGA RARE. A true nugget for a Kinks collector.
