Brilliant debut LP from prog giants King Crimson - In The Court Of The Crimson King. Released in 1969 a year of many many great rock albums this masterpiece is amongst the very finest and influential releases of that momentous year. It was also the only release by the original line-up of Crimson who went on to have one of the most fluid roll calls of any band. The line-up consisted of guitarist extraordinaire and Crimson mastermind Robert Fripp, bassist / lead vocalist Greg Lake, (brilliant) drummer / vocalist Michael Giles, Ian McDonald on reeds, woodwind, vibes, keyboards, mellotron and vocals and Peter Sinfield who supplied words & illumination. 'three lullabyes in an ancient tongue in the court crimson king' It also came packaged in an incredibly beautiful gatefold sleeve with stunning artwork that established it as one of THE great album covers. A masterpiece from any angle.

These records come from my personal collection. They have all been extremely well cared for over the years since I bought them (but they do not come from a pet or smoke free environment). Circumstances have forced my hand & I will be listing a number of my treasured records, ranging from punk to psych/prog to soul to folk to blues and everything inbetween, over the coming months. If you like this record there is a good chance others I am selling may tickle your fancy, so please feel free to have a look. It may have been some time since some of these records have been played so they may be in need of a thorough clean before playing. Side Two: 1) Moonchild including The Dream and The Illusion 2) The Court Of The Crimson King including The Return Of The Fire Witch and The Dance Of The Puppets.

Island Records: ILPS 9111. English pressing (I think). Record is graded as VG++ & it's gatefold sleeve cover graded as VG++ with slight ringwear, slight edgewear including seam split (about three inches long) on the bottom edge and name written inside record entry slit.  

We use the UK Record Collector grading system and we grade conservatively. We will only use a mint grading for a record we know to have been unplayed.  (M) Mint: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items are in perfect condition. (EX) Excellent: The record shows slight signs of having been played but there is no lessening in sound quality and the cover and packaging are as new. (VG) Very Good: The record has obviously been played quite a few times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality. A slight amount of wear and tear on the cover and extra items is acceptable. (G) Good: The record still produces a reasonable, playable sound but has obviously been played a lot. Although showing wear and tear, neither the record or cover/extra items display major defects. (F) Fair: Sound quality has deteriorated markedly. The cover/extra items display folding, scuffing, marks etc.
