Kenny Drew on Blue Note 4059
This is the original* RVG-stamped mono “P”-pressing of Kenny Drew “Undercurrent” on the West 63rd St. labels of Blue Note BLP 4059. The playing surface appears to be in virtually new condition, with a high luster; however, there is a tiny scuff at the 3:30 position of the Side 1 rim that produced three tics at the start of the music; also, there is a tiny dig near the 1:30 position near the beginning of Track 3 of Side 2 that produces seven tics; perhaps played once or twice. The laminated New York 23 cover is in exceptional condition, immaculate throughout with just ¼” wear on the bottom seam, at the spine. *Although some pressings have a deep-groove on Side 2, an early review copy without a deep-groove suggests that the first pressings did not have a deep-groove.
