Description
This is the original deep groove RVG-etched “P”-pressing of Kenny Dorham “Afro-Cuban” on the Lexington Ave. labels of Blue Note BLP 1535. The flat rim playing surface is in extraordinary condition with a high luster; Side 1 has an inaudible scuff on Track 1, Side 2 has just four tics at the intro to the first track and another three tics later on. The coated reverse frame Lexington Ave. cover is clean and bright throughout; 5 ½” split on the top seam ; superficial crack (no split) at the center of the spine; ¾” split/wear/bump on the bottom seam, at the opening; ¼” bulge near the bottom of the opening, on the front. Personnel include Hank Mobley, Cecil Payne, J.J. Johnson, Horace Silver, Oscar Pettiford, and Art Blakey. $500.00.
