Description
Here's a superb 1958 album by trumpet great Kenny Dorham, perhaps one of the most underrated trumpeters of the 20th century. This album features Dorham at his best from sublime ballads to fiery hard bop. This recording also features an out-sized smokin' line up of jazz greats: Sonny Rollins tenor, Hank Jones piano, Oscar Pettiford bass, Max Roach drums, not the least of which is the amazing string embellishments of harpist Betty Glamman (listen to My Old Flame), accompanying Dorham's trumpet artistry on this ballad classic.
This LP is in VG+ if not better condition. The sleeve has very little wear and the album plays and sounds great. There is a tiny Made in Japan sticker in the bottom left corner of the back side, so it's a high quality pressing and extra special. Worthy to be in the best of world class jazz LP collections.
