Paul Kossoff and Simon Kirke original members of Free and blues combo Black Cat Bones, teamed up with American keyboards wizard John "Rabbit" Bundrick and a talented Japanese bass guitarist Tetsu Yamauchi. They recorded this one off album, creating a masterful blues lament, which clearly illustrates what Kossoff enjoyed best "playing the blues". The shear genius of this UK blues guitarist even caught the attention of Alexis Corner in early days of Free and he helped promote the band.
Not an album for the "All Right Now" brigade but if you appreciate whiteboy blues you will be delighted with this recording, which not surprisingly being in the main "sultry/rocky blues" failed to enter the UK charts.
Kossoff made further creditable albums with his next band Back Street Crawler until he finally succumbed to heroin addiction, dying in his sleep on 19th Mar 1976. It was a tragic end for a guitarist that was once destined to be remembered in the same breath as the likes of Clapton and Hendrix.
Gleaming, chunky vinyl in superb condition this is a very nice example for the connoisseur who wants near perfect VINYL playback and will accept nothing less than excellent.
