KATHLEEN FERRIER – DECCA AFK 1-7 – RARE TEST PRESSINGS
Boxed set of 7 Decca records entitled “Kathleen Ferrrier” with catalogue nos. AFK 1-7. Six discs of the set have bright blue labels printed “Factory Sample, Not For Sale” plus handwritten numbers and contents details. One disc (sides 7 & 8) has Ace of Diamonds label SDD 286 (Bach & Handel arias). The text / booklet is unbound loose sheets – 28 rough-cut pages with illustrations and full lyrics. All recordings in the set are mono except that on AKF 4, which is recreated in stereo (i.e. the Ace of Diamonds item).
The contents include songs by Schubert, Schumann, Brahms and Folk songs, all with piano accompaniment, plus works by Bach, Handel, and Mahler with various orchestras.
Overall this set is in excellent condition, but Side 3 has an area of faint hairline marks and Sides 4 & 6 have obvious audible scratch marks across 1 or 2 tracks only. The box is identical to the commercially issued set.
Due to weight the postage will be costly. If preferred the successful bidder could arrange for the set to be collected from our shop in Oxford by prior arrangement.
