KALEIDOSCOPE - BEACON FROM MARS - PSYCH / FOLK ROCK - NEW

Kaleidoscope continued their recording career with A Beacon From Mars which was released in the early 1968. The style of the record continues the same psych rock/folk way which was the dominant style in their first record Side Trips. I'm not that impressed about their debut but in this album the band has improved.

Their debut is a very short album and none of the songs reaches four minutes. A Beacon From Mars includes two long pieces "Taxim" and the title track "A Beacon From Mars". Those are the biggest standout tracks of this record. I have nothing bad to say about the shorter songs either but those two are the clear highlights.

So this is a stronger and also a more trippy album than their debut is. Worth giving a try for every 60's psych fan
