Description

Hello there and welcome to my auction. Please read my descriptions carefully before you bid. Please make sure you read everything especially the condition of each vinyl. The grading and criteria are below.

This is an auction for:  Joy Division  - Unknown Pleasures - RARE Original Vinyl LP album from 1979.

Original first pressing released Factory Records.

UK pressing

FACT 10

"PORKY PRIME CUT" - Etched in the run-out groove

"STEP" - Etched in the run-out groove on the one side.

"THIS IS THE WAY" - Etched in the run-out groove on the other side.

Matrix: FACT 10 - INSIDE 1 A  (Etched)

               FACT - 10 - OUTSIDE 1 B    (Etched)

When you take the record out of the sleeve it looks like an ordinary black vinyl. However if you shine it in a bright light, it is actually translucent RED. Only the very earliest pressings were this colour.

The corners of the inner sleeve are also Square 90 degree angles. Another indicator of the very first pressings.

Vinyl Condition: VG (Some light superficial surface marks, light scratches and light hairline marks but is in good conditon and plays well. Some very light surface crackle and the odd click and pop but no sticks or jumps. Great album and realy is in very nice condition for its age. A real pleasure to listen to and sounds great).

Inner sleeve Condition: G (Inner card sleeve has a number of light crinkles/ripples at the bottom indicating it has got damp at some point. There also also some yellow spots. Apart from that it is just fine and in nice condition).

Outer Sleeve Condition: VG (Textured Garrod & Lofthouse sleeve has some light edge and corner wear & creasing but is in nice condition. Some light ring wear and the odd mark but is in nice condition. Text on the spine is clear and fully readable. Overall a nice condition sleeve especially for its age).

I grade my vinyl’s as follows:

M = Mint: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Unplayed and sealed records are referred to as Mint.

Ex = Excellent: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is no lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have minimal wear and/or creasing.

VG = Very Good: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch.
Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects.

G = Good: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.

Fair = The record shows signs of extensive play and may have many marks and deep scratches but will still play ok but with significantly lower sound quality. Artwork will be rather worn with possible splits, small rips, scrapes, dents, or maybe water damage.

If you would like further information on sleeve or record condition then please email me and I will get back to you as soon as I can.

Please note: Due to the large amount of CD’s and records that I am selling, I don’t have time to include the track listings. If the track listing is important to you then please email me and I will send you the track list.
