Description
The very first record released on FACTORY RECORDS. FAC-2, A FACTORY SAMPLE. This was funded by Tony Wilson who wanted to showcase the Manchester bands he loved. 1000 were released in January 1979, with a further 4000 in March 1979. The cover was designed by Peter Saville (FAC-1 being the promotional poster Saville designed for the first night at the "THE FACTORY", the club that Wilson, Alan Erasmus and Saville rented from Don Tonay, who is credited on the inner sleeve of this record!).
Both 7" records are in mint condition with a just a few surface marks. The labels are in mint condition, and the records have been played only a few times.

The gatefold cover is in mint condition, with no damage to the heat shrink polythene cover. It was hard to photograph this as the cover is silver and highly reflective.
As with the other Joy Division records I have listed for sale, I can say that this is probably the best copy of this record that you will ever see on eBay.

There have been questions regarding the words in the Run Off Grooves, so to save you asking the information is as follows:
Aside : "FAC 2-A1" "EVERYTHING" it also has some very small initials but I cant read them ... possibly IB or TB
Beside : "FAC 2-B1" "IS REPAIRABLE" again there are initials which look like IB or TB
Seaside : "FAC 2 - C1" "EVERYTHING" and again the initials IB or TB
Decide : "FAC 2 - D1" "IS BROKEN" with the initials IB or TB
