Journey "Evolution" 1979 White Label Promo Copy, Excellent Condition

The vinyl disc was visually inspected and appears to be in NM condition.  This is a promotional copy. The vinyl disc has white non-standard promo labels with the wording "Demonstration. Not for sale."  There is a  gold stamped rectangle on the upper left of the back cover that reads "For promotion only. Ownership reserved by CBS. Sale is unlawful."  There is a white timing strip/sticker across the bottom half of the front cover that reads "Columbia Records. Demonstration. Not for sale."  The cover has minor shelf wear but no creases.  

The catalog number FC 35797 appears on spine, labels and timing sticker. Catalog number 35797 appears on inner sleeve. This version features the band members' names on the back cover.  It has the original inner sleeve with band photos on one side and band information on the other side. The inner sleeve is in good condition.  It has a 1" split on bottom side, the other sides are intact. The disc will be shipping in a separate plain white sleeve. Please zoom in on the provided photos to see the overall condition of this item.

Seller is also selling Journey's "Infinity" LP, an original 1978 promo copy which is in excellent condition. If interested in both LPs, shipping can be combined. 

Evolution is the fifth studio album by American rock band Journey. Released in March 1979 on Columbia Records, it is their first album to feature drummer Steve Smith.  It was the band's most successful album at that time, selling three million copies in the US and charting at No. 20 on the US Billboard 200 chart. They retained Roy Thomas Baker (best known for his work with Queen) as producer, but drummer Aynsley Dunbar was replaced with Smith, formerly with Ronnie Montrose's band.  Evolution features their first top 20 hit, "Lovin', Touchin', Squeezin'", which was inspired by the classic Sam Cooke top 20 hit "Nothin' Can Change This Love" and reached No. 16 in the US. "Just the Same Way" featured original lead vocalist Gregg Rolie along with Steve Perry.

Seller is the Original Owner. I have recently begun to list my 2500+ record collection on Ebay, so please check back occasionally to see my new listings. My collection has been securely boxed and stored in a smoke free environment since 1983. Most of my vinyl records have never been played, and many have their original shrink wrap. Seller was in the retail record business in the 1970's-1980's and acquired many promotional and collectible LPs from that era.

Grading methodology is as follows:

M (MINT) - Album is brand new, sealed, and has never been played.

NM (NEAR MINT) - Vinyl looks as if you just got it home from a new record store and removed the shrink wrap. LP cover may have some light rub marks.

VG+ (VERY GOOD PLUS) - Vinyl may show some signs of wear and may have slight scuffs or very light scratches that don't affect one's listening experience. Sleeves will have some slight wear, lightly turned corners, or a slight seam split. May have slight signs of wear also may be marred by a cut out hole, sawcut, or cut corner indicating it is a promotional copy.

VG (VERY GOOD) - Vinyl has light wear, scratches, or scuffs. Covers may be marred by writing, or have tape or stickers (or their residue) attached, etc.

Seller ships domestically within the United States via United States Post Office Media Mail with tracking. This is the most economical option. Due to COVID, shipping may take longer than the typical 5-8 day time frame.  Seller will insure packages valued above $30.  Insurance does not cover missing packages after they have been delivered to the buyer's address, only damage or loss during shipping. Warping is possible if vinyl records are exposed to sun/heat during hot months. Provide a shady area for your package delivery, and bring package inside as soon as possible.  If Buyer would prefer a faster shipping service, please contact the Seller before completing the transaction to discuss options such as Priority Mail. Per USPS, Priority Mail packages are delivered in 1-3 days.
