Up for bid is an extremely rare LP, "Johnny Griffin's Studio Jazz Party." This is an original mono press, released by Riverside (RLP 338) in 1960. The interior labels are blue with silver lettering, with deep grooves on each side. Etched matrix info reads RLP-12-338A / RLP-12-338B. LP is VG+, with light scuffs and several light scratches on either side. LP plays with some surface noise (crackle, tics, and pops) - but no skips. A professional clean should eliminate some of the surface noise. LP retains a nice gloss. Jacket is VG, with several seam splits.There is a split on the top seam that starts at the mouth travels toward the spine about 6 inches. There is a split in the center of the bottom seam about 2 inches long. There is a split on the bottom seam. This split starts at the mouth and travels toward the spine about 1/2 inch. All seams and corners have wear. There is scuffing and ring wear on the front and back of the jacket. There is writing in black ink on the back of the jacket in the lower right corner (see pictures). An original mono press of this LP is difficult to find in any condition! Don't miss your chance to pick up this very rare gem!
