(Adam VIII Ltd A8018 USA 1975 second pressing)

 

Mysterious John Lennon LP originally issued briefly on the tiny Adam VIII label in 1975 and then was quickly withdrawn when the Rock And Roll album was issued. 

This is a second pressing, also from 1975, which has some very subtle differences from the 1st pressing.  The most noticeable of these is that the spine lists the title as John Lennon Sings The GREATEST Rock & Roll Hits.  The 1st pressing used the word Great instead of Greatest.  The 1st pressing also has the words Bell Sounds pressed into the run-out grooves on both sides of the record, this copy doesn’t have this.  So, I’m no expert on Lennon records but I’m fairly certain that this is the second pressing, of course if you think that you know different then you may get a bargain here!  Musically it’s identical to the 1st pressing featuring earlier, rawer versions of that tracks later used on the Rock & Roll album but also including 2 tracks which didn’t appear on that album.

Sleeve: EX   Not really much to say here, it’s a strong EX throughout.  It’s clean, no tears, no writing, no wear or damage of any type.  Both top and bottom seams are unworn.  The spine is undamaged with all of the writing clearly readable.

Both labels are clean and free from any sort of wear or damage.  

Record:  EX  As with the sleeve there’s not really much I can say, it’s a very nice copy and is a strong EX throughout.  There’s a couple of light clicks halfway through side 2 which don’t really detract from anything, other than that the sound is clean and clear throughout.  A very nice copy.
