Up for your Consideration is this 1965 Used 33-1/3 LP Jazz Album by “John Coltrane” titled “Ascension!” Featuring “Dewey Johnson - Trumpet”… Originally released in 1965 on Impulse!  Record Label …with a product number of A-95…Mono Pressing LP Vinyl:  Side A is in NM- Condition… No noticeable surface marks … side B  is in EX- Condition it has 1 surface mark …Sound quality is superb... the mark is not noticeable when being played…No snap, crackle or pops or static … The original luster is intact, and the vinyl shines and sparkles almost like new...Paper Sleeve:  is the Impulse Jazz sleeve...Labels: Orange & Black…Sides are in EX+  and read “A Product of ABC Records Inc New York, NY, 10019-Made in U.S.A “---- Run Off or Dead Wax: "VAN GELDER" and "Edition ll" are inscribed on both sides… Album Cover: is in EX++- Condition, it is a Gate Fold …font has a little shelf smudge at the top and bottom and something is faintly stamped under Johns' Name...  the inside is nice and clean but has a little smudge on the upper left corner...the inside reads “The New Wave In Jazz Feel it on Impulse!”...and  “Impulse Records, a Product of ABC – Paramount Records Inc. 1501 Broadway , N.Y. 36”…the back has some shelf ware at the bottom but it still looks good and clean... over all Cover is Fantastic… overall what I see is a Used 33RPM Album in EX++ Condition … I have listed a rating chart below... I inspect everything under bright spot light and state what I see, plus I have the album played for sound quality... Please look at all of the pictures since they are a part of the description also... History

Musician-critic Don Heckman, in reviewing a Coltrane performance for Down Beat, distills the nature of that part of Coltrane's power to seize and hold his listeners: "What makes his work so special is the fact that even though Coltrane could probably do anything he wants to as an improviser, he constantly sets goals for himself while he plays that require an outpouring of the most demanding personal energies. The resulting personal esthetic odyssey makes almost every exposure to his work a memorable experience.". He influenced innumerable musicians, and remains one of the most significant tenor saxophonists in jazz history. He received many awards, among them a posthumous Special Citation from the Pulitzer Prize Board in 2007 for his "masterful improvisation, supreme musicianship and iconic centrality to the history of jazz."
