Description

Up for auction is this rare Jimmy Smith Lp pressed by Blue Note Records in 1956 and is titled, "A New Sound A New Star." The Lp is Volume 2 in this series and is numbered 1512. This is a Deep Groove press with the 767 Lexington Ave. address on the labels as well as the back cover. The dead wax features the Ear and RVG. The cover is in Very Good condition due to the original owner taping the edges many decades ago with cellophane tape to prevent seam splits. The tape fell off over the years and it has left a tape residue stain on all three sides, but hey, no seam splits. The original owner wrote her name on the back on top in ink and it still has the original hand written price in pencil on the back too. The vinyl is in Very Good condition but sounds great due to Jimmy's hard driving organ. The labels are in Exellent condition.
