I sell vinyl records with complete honesty and reliability. Above all things I am a record collector and music lover. I only sell records that I would want to receive. I know well the disappointment of receiving an over-graded record that turns up two weeks late. That is not the service you will receive here, so bid with total confidence. I don’t sell a lot of records because I spend a lot of time carefully finding, grading and listing them and do not like to rush this process, as many sellers must do to be able to sell 100 records a week!


I am mostly a collector of old time music, pre-war blues and folk, so buy job-lots that often contain rare records that aren’t to my taste so to eBay they go!

So here we have a beautiful UK 1st pressing of Jethro Tull’s seminal record Heavy Horses with 1st press textured sleeve and lyric inner.

1st presses of these are very rare and can be signified by the gold writing on the front sleeve. This was quickly replaced by the white writing of the poem which was quickly moved to the left side.

All this and it’s in pristine condition throughout!

Jethro Tull's 11th studio album, Heavy Horses, is one of their prettier records, a veritable celebration of English folk music chock-full of gorgeous melodies, briskly played acoustic guitars and mandolins, and Ian Anderson's flute lilting in the background, backed by the group in top form. This record is a fairly close cousin to 1977's Songs From the Wood, except that its songs are decidedly more passionate, sung with a rough, robust energy that much of Tull's work since Thick as a Brick had been missing, and surpassing even Aqualung in its lustiness. "No Lullaby" is the signature heavy riff song, a concert version of which opened Bursting Out: Jethro Tull Live. Anderson sings it -- and everything else here -- as though they might be the last lines he ever gets to voice, with tremendous intensity. The band plays hard behind him throughout, with lead guitarist Martin Barre (most notably on "Weathercock") and bassist John Glascock showing up very well throughout. Anderson's production and Robin Black's engineering catch their every nuance without sacrificing the delicacy of his acoustic guitar and mandolin playing. "Acres Wild," "Rover," "One Brown Mouse," "Weathercock," and "Moths," the latter featuring some of David Palmer's most tasteful orchestral arrangements, are among the loveliest songs in the group's entire repertory. Curved Air's Darryl Way plays violin solo on the title track -- a tribute to England's vanishing shire horses, which doesn't really take off until Way's instrument comes in on the break, with a marked tempo change -- and on "Acres Wild."

Sleeve Condition.

The original textured UK 1st sleeve with gold writing is in lovely condition. There are no rips, stains or splits to mention. The colours are still vibrant and clear. There is only some mild shelf wear to mention really. The edges are still nice and sharp and the spine perfect eligible. A really good example.

The first press lyric inner is in near perfect condition with no splits, tears or staining. These are very fragile and so often ripped, but this is beautiful!

No rips, rubs or stains! Just perfect 1st press labels. Under a halogen only the mildest of one spindle can be seen.

Vinyl Visual Condition.

The record itself looks perfect on eye inspection!  It still retains its factory shine and lustre and looks as new. Under a halogen, only the slightest of removals can be seen. A rainbowed perfection!

The record sounded perfect from start to finish.  The band sounded well defined and very clear throughout.  The title track Heavy Horses sounds amazing and just jumps off the platter with the violin piercing through sublimely! Final Upgrade!

Records will be sent in defenda-box mailers which are strong corrugate cardboard boxes ensuring that no bending can take place. They are in essence bomb proof!

Records will be sent housed in new poly-lined inners outside of the sleeve to protect both the sleeve and original inner

I hand clean records with Clear groove and a microfiber cloth, however, if you use your own system or machine and would prefer I didn’t, then please ask.
