Description
Jan & Dean - Original 1960 MONO on Dore 101. Includes very RARE Photo Insert!!. The LP is obscure and rarely shows up on eBay and is nearly 60 years old. Jan Berry and Dean Torrence were a Doo-Wop duo and recorded this LP on the Dore (pronounced dory) label. The recording is just before the big surf craze that gave them their notoriety in the popular California genre.
LP: The durable, deep groove vinyl plays surprisingly well. There are several scratches and sleeve marks on both sides that do not affect play except in between tracks where pops and ticks occur. Otherwise this is an enjoyable listen. Playback is graded VG and visually G.
Labels: Labels are G with spindle marks but no writing.
Cover: The cover grades good with clear tape across the bottom seam. The tape has yellowed (and starting to come loose) and the bottom seam appears completely split. Ring wear and some staining front and back and the beginning of a split at top right seam.
Insert: This is the rare gem with this original first pressing - The photo insert is in excellent condition with just a bit of foxing and stains as seen in the photographs. The photo was never put up on display so no pin holes or tape residue. A true rarity!
