James Brown and the Famous Flames:   Please, Please, Please
"LEGS" Front coverJames Brown's 16 Biggest HitsDeep Groove / Narrow KING Label LogoBoxed " THIS IS A HIGH FIDELITY RECORDING " on back cover
Record is EXCELLENTSleeve is VERY GOOD +
This record comes from the personal collection of a former 1950's-1970's radio station executive from Cincinnati.First pressing, deep groove records would come in from King Records, right there in Cincinnati , and certain titles would go directly into his personal collection. As is the case with most of this collection, This 60 year old album seems to have been played once or twice and then stored away for decades.
Front Cover is Glossy with Bright Colors.Jacket has seam splits on the opening end, top & bottom - each about 2-3 inches. Still very structurally sound with no spine issues. NO TAPE.
The record itself has been played though in it's entirety to determine the overall vinyl grading.Upon visual inspection, alone, it would be considered to be in Excellent condition.Audio-wise, it is closer to NEAR MINT!  Very, very little surface noise. No skips, no pops... sounds absolutely beautiful.
This is an AMAZING copy of this highly sought after 1st Press MONO LP

Deep Grooves Grading Guidelines:

Mint (M): This grade will only ever apply to an actual record or inserts that are still in a factory sealed cover.

We NEVER consider any album jacket to be mint.

Near Mint (NM):  Record shows no obvious sign of wear.

LP jacket has no creases, folds, seam splits or any other noticeable similar defect.

Also, no cut-outs, holes, notches, etc

Excellent (EX):  Beautiful collectible condition.

Only the slightest of wear, certainly no deep scratches.

Very Good Plus (VG+): Shows some signs that it was played and otherwise handled by a previous owner who took good care of it.

Record surfaces may show some slight signs of wear and may have slight scuffs or very light scratches that don't affect one's listening experience.

Slight warps that do not affect the sound are OK.

Picture sleeves and LP inner sleeves will have some slight wear, lightly turn-up corners, or a slight seam-split.

An LP jacket my have slight signs of wear also and may be marred by a cut-out hole, indentation or corner indicating it was taken out of print

Very Good (VG): Many of the defects found in a VG+ record are more pronounced in a VG disc.

Surface noise is evident upon playing, especially in soft passages and during the song's intro and fade, but will not overpower the music otherwise.

Groove wear will start to be noticeable, as will light scratches deep enough to feel with a fingernail that will affect the sound.

Labels may be marred by writing, or have tape or stickers (or their residue) attached.

The same will be true of picture sleeves or LP covers. However, it will not have all of these problems at the same time, only two or three of them.

Good (G)  A record in Good condition can be put onto a turntable and will play through without skipping. But it will have surface noise and scratches and visible groove wear.

A jacket or sleeve has seam splits, especially at the bottom or on the spine. Tape, writing, ring wear or other defects will start to overwhelm the object.

Every effort is made to accurately grade all records.

Please disregard the last photo.

It was mistakenly added to this listing and is obviously a picture of a different record.
Sorry for any confusion.
