Description
Original mono Van Gelder "ear" pressing of Jackie McLean One Step Beyond on the New York USA labels of Blue Note BLP 4137. This is one of the transitional pressings with a deep groove on Side 1 only (there are no pressings of this with a deep groove on both sides). The playing surface is in very nearly new condition, with a high luster; perhaps played once or twice. The non-laminated West 61st St. cover is bright and clean throughout: promo stamp at the top of the back; "Frankenstein" is underlined in purple ink and "early l963" written small beside it.
Personnel includes Grachan Moncur III, Bobby Hutcherson, and Tony Williams.
