Description
This is Blue Note Records BST 84270, Jack Wilson Easterly Winds, an original, promo only, mono, blue and white Liberty label, with microgroove (not stereo) on the top banner, and Van Gelder stamped in the dead wax*. This great session features Jackie Mclean, Billy Higgins and Lee Morgan. This is a mono issue even though the catalog numbers are for stereo. It was issued as a special audition copy, provided for radio stations that had not yet converted to stereo. A very rare piece. The record is in VG++ condition showing very light sleeve marks keeping it from being called near mint. It plays quietly throughout. The cover shows some light ring and edge wear, but is otherwise excellent and intact. The labels are excellent. The original inner sleeve is included. An excellent collector's grade copy of this limited edition piece. The record was cleaned on a VPI 17 and played on a Linn Sondek LP12.
