ALBUM INFO

JUDAS PRIEST :- ...SAD WINGS OF DESTINY... UK GULL 1976 1st Press.

"ALL TIME CLASSIC PRIEST LINE UP"  ALBUM.

LAMINATED COVER:- EXCELLENT,  VINYL:- EXCELLENT..

Sad Wings Of Destiny is the second album by Judas Priest, released in 1976.

The cover art for the album, titled Fallen Angels, was illustrated by Patrick Woodroffe. It is best known for introducing the pitchfork-like symbol known as the "Judas Priest Cross," as worn by the angel.

Sad Wings of Destiny was Judas Priest's second and final studio record made while under contract with Gull Records, an independent UK company. Despite critical acclaim, the band was struggling financially due to lack of support from the label. Shortly after changing management, the band severed their ties with Gull and signed with Columbia Records. Consequently, Judas Priest lost all rights to the recordings on their first two albums and to all demo recordings made during the sessions while under contract with Gull.Sad Wings of Destiny was initially published and distributed by Janus Records in the United States.

Whilst the band lost the rights to recording royalties, they obtained copyright ownership of the songs themselves, many of which became staples for their live shows. "Victim of Changes", "The Ripper", "Tyrant" and "Genocide" appear on Judas Priest Unleashed in the East, a live album released by CBS in 1979. "Diamonds and Rust", a Joan Baez song originally recorded for Sad Wings, but left off of the final album, was re-recorded for Sin After Sin, their first CBS release, and also on Unleashed. Gull later released the band's original recording of "Diamonds and Rust" on a 'best of' album.

VINYL:

Excellent :- I can assure you that this 1st press is a good one, light signs of use. Not play checked, I can only say it's in fantastic condition.

SLEEVE :

Excellent :-  condition:-  Rarely seen in this condition, UK sleeve 1st press, is so hard to find, have a look at the photo's it's non laminated sleeve has NO writing or damage.

SPINE:

Fully readable spine, slight rubbing on the bottom corner...

INNER SLEEVE:

Excellent :- The lined paper type ... being the very fragile inner sleeve is a great indicator of the amount of usage the album has had, no creases, or tear through, I would say the inner is the best you could find! and considering how fragile these are.....Now 40 years old, quite unbelievable intact condition.

LABELS:

Excellent :- light Spindle, Clean, no Writing, no damage.

GRADING SYSTEM: In order to assist everyone who buys and sells rare discs, Record Collector magazine has originated a set of standards for the condition of second-hand records, I have added a (+) or (-) to my gradings where applicable.

MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.
EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.
FAIR: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.
POOR: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

PAYMENT:

Items must be paid for within five days. If non payment within five days, I will then instigate an eBay ruling. I will set up a dispute and either offer it to the runner up bidder or re-list.

RETURNS POLICY:

I aim to provide an excellent service and hope that all buyers are satisfied with their purchase. However, if for any reason this should not be so, please contact me. I do accept returns, and on receipt of the item I will give a full refund - however - I will not refund what it costs the buyer to send it back, as otherwise I am just paying for the customer to look at it. I will not issue a refund if detail that is clearly stated on the advertisement has been missed by the buyer, so please read carefully.

PACKAGING:

I use preformed and standard mailers with stiffeners. I always take the vinyl out in its inner sleeve and place on top of the cover. This is then placed into a soft protective sleeve and packaged with stiffeners for full protection.
