Description
JOSEF K Sorry For Laughing. Postcard 81/1
(Ultra rare 1981 withdrawn and consequently unreleased Vinyl LP white label test pressing on Postcard Records).
Condition: NEAR MINT (Unplayed)
(Black vinyl that may show a slight amount of dust and/or dirt. Should still be very shiny under a light, even with slight amount of dust on surface.
One or two small marks that would make an otherwise near perfect record slightly less so. These marks cannot be too deep, and should only be surface marks that won't affect play.)
Sleeve Condition: VG=Very Good (VG covers will look worn, used. There may be some seam splitting but not completely separated!).
In late 1980 the band recorded an LP's worth of material for their debut album in less than two weeks. Twelve tracks were cut, test pressings made, and a deluxe silver sleeve proofed - yet at the eleventh hour the release was cancelled. The somewhat slickly produced 'Sorry for Laughing' was canned by Alan Horne and the band for tilting the sound toward the rhythm section, rather than highlighting the guitars and sounding live. However, 28 years on the taut rhythmic intensity, eerie atmospherics, and looming paranoia of these recordings still resonate and the production sounds fresh.
Track Listing:
1. Fun n Frenzy 2. Heads Watch 3. Drone 4. Sense Of Guilt 5. Art Of tHings 6. Crazy To Exist 7. Citizens 8. Variations Of Scene 9. Terrys Show Lies 10.No Glory 11.Endless Soul 12.Sorry For Laughing.
'Sorry For Laughing' is a record which quickly joined the pantheon of 'Great Lost Albums'. The vinyl is ultra rare and has sold every so often at very high prices.
