This is the first of 3 issues of this EP. It was released in 1959 on the Leedon label. The EP was re- released in 1960 on the Lee Gordon label – though the covers remained inscribed ‘Leedon’. It was further reissued in 1961 with a 10.319 prefix. All of this is important in context because this pressing is roughly twice as rare as the others. After all- it’s Johnny’s first EP and the only one on Leedon . I witnessed him sign it to my mate in the early eighties. The vinyl has retained it’s shine. The (a) side is EX and the (b) has a light mark that doesn’t sound so it’s EX-. The label is EX and the cover has nice solid seams and no serious wrinkles . The back has light ageing but no more than you would expect from a record of this pedigree. The cover is strong EX. A high end copy of a rare EP.
CONDITION WISE:
MINT: New condition, no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. Cover, label, extras in superb condition.
EXCELLENT: Slight signs of having been played, no lessening of sound quality. Cover, label, extras may show slight signs of usage.
VERY GOOD: Played quite a few times, no real deterioration in sound quality. Cover, label, extras may show some amount of wear and tear.
GOOD: Showing considerable wear and tear. Reasonable, playable sound. Cover, label, extras may also display considerable deterioration.
FAIR: Sound quality may have deteriorated. Cover, label, extras may also display significant wear and tear.
