Description

Tchicai who was born in Denmark was a member of Archie Shepp's New York Contemporary Five and the New York Art Quartet. He played on John Coltrane's Ascension, and Albert Ayler's New York Eye and Ear Control, both influential free jazz recordings. He died in October 2012 at the age of 76. This is one of his early recordings as a leader.

Recorded during "Free Concert" at Townhall Charlottenbug/Berlin on February 16th, 1977 with the "FMP-Mobile-Recording-Unit".
