Description

This is an auction for a rare LP by John Mayall & Blues Breakers, John Mayall Plays John Mayall, Live At Klooks Kleek.

This was released on Decca Records in 1965 and has catalogue number LK4680. This is the 1st pressing with red and silver labels, a groove runs around the circumference of the label and the Decca lettering is in large letters (unboxed). This is mono.

Matrix Numbers- ARL 6711 2A    ARL 6712 1A

Condition: The sleeve has some very light discolouring marks. There are a few small lamination creases seen under close examination and lastly very light buffing to the very corners. Spine and edges ex, no tears, bends or creases, lamination at mouth ex, no fingering indentations along mouth. Please check the pictures a very nice sleeve and graded at a strict VG+.

This comes with its original patents pending inner sleeve that has a little yellowing (no tears).

Labels: Both labels are clean and look new, under closer examination some spider spindle trails can be seen on each side, the centre hole shows little to no signs of wear.

Vinyl- both sides retain there near new shine and look new, when held under a strong light two very faint scuff marks and perhaps two tiny feather scratches can be seen.  I have play tested this record through both sides and I am very pleased to say that this plays how it looks which is just about perfect, no audible surface marks whatsoever.

Side 1 has a quiet entry and breaks between tracks, this the goes on to play with very little, if any, lessening in sound quality. The music itself plays strong and clear with no distortion, fading or dragging heard whatsoever. My system did not even pick up one crackle on this, superb sound quality and certainly no lessening due to wear with this not being overplayed.

Side 2 has the same quiet entry and breaks between tracks. The music itself plays strong and clear through this side with no fading, distortion or dragging heard whatsoever. Again I did not hear a crackle or pop with superb sound quality through out. Like side 1 this has not been overplayed. So to sum up, plays as new with perhaps one or two very quiet crackles?

This record is graded at Near Mint, plays with very little, if any, lessening in sound quality and has not been overplayed.

Probably close to as good as you can find this one, fine sleeve and vinyl, a superb addition to any collection.
