Description

Full-length LP from John Coltrane titled "Lush Life" released by Prestige Records ((PRLP 7188) in 1960. Original MONO pressing has yellow and black labels and RVG stamp in deadwax. A-side has 3 tracks with Coltrane in an unusual trio setting digging deep to flesh out the tunes thanks to pianist Red Garland not showing up for the recording session. B-side has 2 tracks as quintets with a lengthy "Lush Life" that features beautiful solos from Coltrane, Garland and trumpeter Donald Byrd. Coltrane's playing may not be quite the adventure he is known for on his Atlantic and Impulse releases but nonetheless strong and distinctive solos are plenty here and a quite satisfying listening experience. ESSENTIAL!

Labels are in EXCELLENT condition. Vinyl record is in VG+ condition with some light surface marks and plays with some light background noises. Fidelity is excellent...sounds great! Cover is in VG+ condition with wear at corners, a little pealing of laminate along right edge, torn corner at lower left of back paste-on, a few small light stains on backside and some discoloration (tanning) of white area on backside.
