Description

This is a nice one!

You are bidding on Joe Bataan's "Riot!" , which came out in the 1968 on Fania Records.

Lp is in its original shrinkwrap and looks and plays quite nice!

I grade the lp a NM-/VG++

Here is a excerpt from a review from the soulstrut.com website. I've got to give credit to them and reviewer Motown67 for this:

Joe Bataan was one of the hottest Latin-Soul acts to come out of New York City in the 1960s. He was actually Filipino and Black, who had a tough couple years as a kid in Spanish Harlem where he was a gang leader, high school dropout and a car thief that landed him in prison twice. After he got out he formed a band at El Barrio youth center in 1966. The following year he got a record deal with the new Fania label. His records scored hit after hit and he was a huge crossover act being popular with both Latin and Soul crowds. On Riot! you can hear all of Bataan's influences. He starts off with two covers that have an early-60s sound. First is the RnB-Boogaloo interpretation of a Holland-Dozier-Holland number It's A Good Feeling (Riot), followed by the RnB ballad For Your Love. He then picks it up with two Latin numbers Muneca and Pa Monte.
