Description
This auction is for a promotional disc advertising Bruce Clarke's Jingle Workshop.
Bruce Clarke's Jingle Workshop was one of Melbourne's busiest jingle production houses, and created thousands of jingles during its life. Titled "Music To Sell By", this 12" 33 rpm disc showcases the Jingle Workshop's expertise in advertising, by featuring a sample of the radio and television jingles it produced over the preceding year. These discs were issued yearly from about 1960 on - this one is Volume 7, and features jingles from 1966. The original discs were only ever given to prospective clients - never available to the public - and therefore, are quite rare.
This disc features a voiceover by radio presenter Jim Berinson, and a description of the various production services which the Jingle Workshop offers, with examples of vocals and instrumentation given.

The disc also includes some extended instrumental tracks.
The disc itself is in very good condition - only the most minor marking, and little if any surface noise can be heard. The cover is less than perfect - slightly dog-eared and creased at the edges, with some discolouration visible in the fold-out centre.
This is one of several advertising discs I'll be listing on eBay in the coming days - transferred them all to mp3, so I don't really need the originals any more...
