Description
Jimi Hendrix - Official American Music Industry Award
This is a genuine RIAA American music industry Platinum Award for 1,000,000 sales of the album ‘Band of Gypsys’. This album was not certified Platinum until 1992, so this 1990s ‘R’ Hologram award is the original format for this certification. The award measures 17x21 inches (44x54cms) and is in good condition. It features the RIAA hologram to indicate its authenticity, and a plaque that includes the following text:

RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) awards are the American equivalent of British BPI awards, and are only presented to artists, producers, record companies and others in the music industry that contributed to the success of a record. This is an official music industry award and should not be confused with any kind of replica or ‘limited edition’ discs that are sold direct to the public.
