Description
Haven't seen one of these in years. Up for auction is this impossibly rare Latin Funk fusion effort from Cortijo. Y Su Maquina De Tiempo. Great latin grooves with the added benefit of a normal drum kit in on the recording session. In other words, amazingly funky percussion, b-boy drums, and dizzying jams featuring some of the finest Latin musicians period. Songs include "Carnaval" (killer!!!), "La Verdad", "Gumbo" (killer!!!!), "Baila Y Goza", "La Lluvia", "De Coco Y Anis", "La Tercera Guerra". I can't stress how rare and one-of-a-kind this album is. Sounds like a cross between Bobby Paunetto, Nico Gomez, Ricardo Marrero, Fela, & Ismael Rivera. The style is unique, the tracks are very applicable in a dj setting, and the music is unparalleled by any other record of its kind. Soul Jazz comiled a few of the songs on this album for their Barrio Funk comp and with great reason. Never shows up this pretty or funky; do the do on Latin time travel heat!
