Description

Jimi Hendrix

Band of Gypsys

Withdrawn 'puppet' cover.

A superb copy of this rare and sought after collectors item.

Black matt Track label catologue number 2406 002

Side A Matrix 2406 002 A1

Side B Matrix 2406 002 B1

Vinyl, near mint, (both sides), my wife (Jimi fan of old), purchased this album before we met. To the best of her knowledge the album was played three or four times. I have inspected, my wife has inspected and our daughter have inspected the vinyl, no visible marks, scuffs or scratches. 140g vinyl shines as new.

Cover, front as near perfect (mint) as you could get, minor, barely visible, 1/2 inch crescent shaped crease where the cover has been held to remove / replace album. Back cover, a little discolouring / mark towards the top of Jimi's hair, hairline mark (about 2 inches), just above the Track logo. All edges of the sleeve (including spine) are again as near as mint as possible.

There are some spindle marks on Track album label otherwise perfect

Inner sleeve is poly lined and stamped UK Patent No. 1072844 & Foreign Patent Pending.

A GREAT COPY OF THIS MASTERPIECE!!

ALL ALBUMS POSTED IN PROTECTIVE MAILERS

The grading system I use when determining the condition of the vinyl is The 'Record Collectors' Grading System, taken from the Rare Record Price Guide book.

Mint (M) The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.

Near Mint (NM) The record looks brand new with no scuffing or any deterioration in sound quality and only the smallest hint that its ever been played. The cover and any additional extras are clean, crisp and with no wear whatsoever.

Excellent (EX) The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

Very Good (VG) The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

Good (G) The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.

Fair (F) The record is still just about playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

Poor (P) The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

I HAVE REINSPECTED THE RECORD TODAY (13/06/06) UNDER A STRONG NATURAL LIGHT LAMP AND NOTICED VERY FEINT MARKS ON THE VINYL. I HAVE PLAYED THE ALBUM, THESE MARKS DO NOT AFFECT PLAY BACK OF THE LP, NOR CAN I DETECT ANY DISTORTION OF SOUND QUALITY

TO CLARIFY THE COMMENTS I ADDED ON 13/6/06 IN RESPONSE TO AN EMAIL I RECEIVED, I WOULD GRADE THE VINYL AS SOMEWHERE BETWEEN EXCELLENT AND NEAR MINT. SHOULD ANY BUYER PURCHASE THIS RECORD AND NOT BE SATISFIED I WILL GLADLY GIVE A FULL REFUND INCLUDING POSTAGE UPON THE GOODS BEING RETURNED. PLEASE ASK IF YOU REQUIRE MORE INFORMATION.

AS I HAVE QUITE A FEW PEOPLE WATCHING THIS ITEM I WANT TO BE AS ACCURATE AS POSSIBLE AS REGARDS THE GRADING OF THE VINYL FOR THIS RECORD. I TOOK THE LP TO A FRIEND OF MINE TODAY WHO IS SERIOUSLY INTO MUSIC AND HAS A SERIOUS SYSTEM FOR PLAYING VINYL. WHILST THE RECORD SOUNDS SUPERB WITH A RICH BASS SOUND THERE IS A LITTLE BIT OF 'CRACKLE' HERE AND THERE, THIS IS BARELY NOTICABLE APART FROM BETWEEN TRACKS, FADE IN AND FADE OUTS,  AGAIN I REITERATE IF ANY BUYER IS UNHAPPY I WILL GIVE A FULL REFUND INCLUDING POSTAGE UPON THE GOODS BEING RETURNED. (POSTAGE REFUND UK BUYERS ONLY). I WOULD THEREFORE GRADE THE VINYL BETWEEN VERY GOOD & EXCELLENT.
