JETHRO TULL - THICK AS A BRICK - 1972 US RADIO PROMO LP - VERY GOOD

This is another very rare US promotional LP release of Jethro Tull's 1972 album "Thick As A Brick", edited in 8 tracks for radio play. Tracklisting: Side 1: Edit 1 (03:02); Edit 2 (02:10); Edit 3 (05:40); Edit 4 (04:06); Edit 5 (05:12); Side 2: Edit 6 (07:14); Edit 7 (05:10); Edit 8 (03:30).

This LP was released/distributed in 1972 in the US on the Reprise Records label (promotional white label), catalogue number MS 2072; made in the US. The record comes in a white paper inner sleeve with advertising for other Warner/Reprise artist's releases. The sleeve is the classic 12-page "St. Cleve Chronicle" newspaper. The 'Fluffy the Duck' game and the crossword have not been completed (see picture). On the front of the outer sleeve is a sticker mentioning the edits' playing times. Both the record and the bottom note on the sticker mention "This is an edited version of "Thick As A Brick" especially prepared to assist disc jockeys, and is different from the record intended for consumers." (also see pictures).

The record is in good condition; there is considerable surface noise but no deterioration or lessening in the sound quality. There are no scratches or jumps. The inner sleeve is in very good condition; there is wear on all three sides but there are no nicks, no writing, no stains. The outer sleeve nevertheless is in very good (outside) to excellent (inside) condition; there is no tear or wear, there are no stains, no writing, and there are no nicks on any of the pages; the outside has tanned from aging (and probably from sitting in a smoking environment). Giving an overall grading for this LP is difficult because of the big difference in quality between record and sleeve, but I would grade it as in Very Good condition.

Another rare promotional US release meant for radio play, and a "St. Cleve Chronicle" in excellent condition, a must have for your collection!!
