Description
Here's a rare Jefferson Airplane concert poster. The gig took place June 4th, 1967 at "Civic Auditorium" (San Francisco? San Jose?) and the show was opened by William Penn & His Pals, and The E-Types. This is quite a famous poster, I've seen re-prints of it around for years but this is apparently an original printing, and it's the only one I've ever come across. It measures approximately 17" wide X 22" tall. It is printed on a very coarsely textured tan thick paper stock in purple, olive green and black inks. The corners have multiple tack holes and there are a few stray tack holes around the edge outside of the black border, a tiny piece of the lower right corner is torn away, there are some light creases, a tear in the center of the bottom edge extends to the bottom of the last "C" in "CIVIC" but the image is largely unaffected by the flaws. I will grade it "Good" overall but it appears that this poster would look near mint if framed/matted up to the outer black border, as 99% of the visible damage is outside of the border. The back side of the poster has some old dried-out double-sided tape in the corners. A very cool piece of Bay Area rock history!
