Description
The record you are viewing is part of a collection acquired through a successful auction bid. The product purchased is from a deceased record store owner whose doors closed circa 1970, having made a run of it during the 60's. An incredibly large volume of LPs remained, many in new (sealed) or pristine condition and properly stored. These will comprise the bulk of offerings I will be posting on eBay. With a vast and well preserved inventory, it will take time to sift through and uncover the many hidden gems that await. My goal is to present these finds to eBay buyers in a timely and systematic manner. I am aware finds of this nature are indeed rare, but the fact is, the records I will be listing have sat undisturbed for over 40 years waiting to be rediscovered, shared and enjoyed. I hope you will find some items you've been wanting and can be part of, what I feel, is an historical find. All items kept in smoke-free, pet-free environment.
Savoy flat edge, deep groove MONO LP MG 12045 (RVG etched in dead wax) - released 1955
VG+ vinyl retains newish sheen and gloss. May have been played once or twice prior. Play test on NAD C555 turntable revealed rich, resonant analogue sound with occasional light surface. Side one has a light tick on about half the side. Side two plays virtually pristine. VG+ laminated cover has paper tear lower rear panel (see photo). Small '22' inspection stamp lower rear right corner. Light shelf wear. Penciled '4.98' price upper rear right corner. Amazing lineup of players including Art Pepper, Don Bagley, Conti Candoli, Bob Cooper, and Bob Gordon in addition to the main nucleus of the group.
