This auction is for an ORIGINAL Long Play vinyl record released in
1953 by The CLIFFORD BROWN QUARTET on the "BLUE NOTE" record label #5047.
Recorded in Paris, France, October 15, 1953.

This is an excellent quality and very rare 10 inch 33 and 1/3 Long Play microgroove
vinyl record. The Blue Note Label was NYC's premier Jazz studio in the 1950's and they
found some of the best Jazz musicians of all time recorded to wax.
This extremely rare ten inch LP is dated from 1953, and since distribution was limited and not many
were pressed, this has become a highly collectable prize in a few world class record collections.
The Jazztime Paris series were recorded in September and October of 1953 with some
releases by Gigi Gryce and Clifford Brown.
This is offered as you see the pictures, an original first pressing with the address @ 767 Lexington Avenue.
There is no raised lead in groove, a flat edge lead in.
I had never heard this artist/musician and world class trumpeter play before, but after a quick listen
I am convinved that the reason this historic vinyl sells for so much is because of his genius, artistic, and
excellence with his trumpet! OH MY GOSH this guy was great! Very sadly he was killed in a
car wreck in 1956 just after securing solid gigs with with Max Roach.

This LP is classified as a
VERY GOOD PLUS (+)
CONDITION DETAILS:
The vinyl has very light scuffs. It plays with few noise distractions-there are a few small pops but otherwise
this is a very enjoyable presentation. Over all play grade is a VG+ and visual is a VG+.
The Cover is VG+ excellent for 52 years of family scrabble and monopoly games being played on it!
It has NO seam splits, and only a small smash in the top right corner from junior dropping the cover.
The back cover has the browning along the edges only (glue wears out and discolors) and this is not from
smoking or Mom's grease fires on the stove. It is from AGE. Even though Clifford Brown is dead, he still ages!
