Description
PLEASE READ THIS: Most questions are answered below, and most problems can be avoided by reading the following information.
I prefer payment by PAYPAL. It gets me my money quickly and I ship your LP really quickly in return. Please make your payment to: abts@indy.rr.com. Please do NOT send emails to that address.
The total amount due is the amount of your winning bid PLUS the shipping/handling costs below:
SHIPPING & HANDLING:
*First LP is $4 Media Mail IN THE US
*or $6 for priority mail IN THE US
*or $7 air mail to Canada
*or $12 airmail to Europe and $13 to Japan/Australia/New Zeland.
*OR $6 for international surface mail.
MULTIPLE ITEMS: It’s great if you find multiple auctions of mine to bid on. You will save $$ on shipping and I can ship you by whatever method you want BUT I need you to keep me posted on how long you want to wait before settling up for everything. Once the TEN DAY period is passed you may receive a late payment warning, please don’t panic, just remind me that there are auctions you are waiting for to close.
• In the US add .50 for each additional LP MEDIA POST
• or $1 for each additional LP PRIORITY POST
• International Air add $3 for the 2nd LP and $1 for the 3rd
• International Surface add $1 for the 2nd and $1 for the 3rd
• More than three LPs total please contact me for post costs.
Insurance is your option if you live in the US. $1.30 up to $50 and $2.50 up to $100. Because of the US Post Office policies, insuring international packages is prohibitively expensive – it raises the cost of the postage by 200% AND requires a full value customs declaration.
INTERNATIONAL BUYERS BE CAREFUL. IF YOU PAY $6 FOR SHIPPING YOUR LP WILL BE SENT VIA SURFACE MAIL.
NOTE: This is a VINYL LP. It might be possible to get it into your CD player but it won’t be good for the LP or the CD player and whatever noises it may make will be entirely unexpected.
GRADING: Unless a record is truly flawless or brand new but unsealed MINT MINUS (M-) is the highest grade given. The scale I use is from M- EX VG++ VG+ VG VG- with VG+ represent the condition of most LPs that have been taken care of but played over the course of 10-20 years. VG- LPs are records that have significant surface scratches and noticeable noise but do not skip and are still enjoyable. Records in this condition will be listed only when they are copies of LPs that are rare and expensive in M- condition. All items are guaranteed and may be returned for the full amount of the winning bid if you are not satisfied with the described condition; if SEALED LPs are shipped SEALED there is no guarantee (I know what reseals look like and do not sell them as sealed LPs); after receiving payment I can open sealed records here and inspect them before shipping. Any defects, or problems and your payment will be refunded in full. Always give a seller an opportunity to correct any problems before leaving feedback.
In nearly 2,000 transactions I have only had one problem, and that was with a guy who was happy with the items, but decided to complain about the shipping charges a couple months after the fact!
PAYMENT: PAYPAL is preferred. Money Orders, IMO’s, checks, well concealed cash may be sent to PO Box 19553 Indianapolis IN 46219 and payable to: STAN DENSKI. Please include the name of the item you’re paying for and your address in with the payment. If you send me money with no explanation I will spend it and always think fondly of you, but I won’t actually send you anything. I also do not have the time to track you down.
You have TEN DAYS from the end of the auction for payment to be received. Please don’t bid on inexpensive LPs that you won’t actually want if you win them (come to think of it, please don’t bid on anything if you don’t intend to pay for it). I usually don’t leave negative feedback because it generates “revenge negatives” in response. However, I DO file non-paying bidder forms with eBay so I can get my fees refunded, and once a non-paying bidder form has been filed you have to contact eBay regarding its removal. After the auction, your feedback gets ours.
There are easier things than describing this record. I found one description that said: "all-time mindblowing, dive bar groovy TN love psych, 5am backseat pilldealer vibe." which, like most descriptions, is really right on the money BUT doesn't really mean anything if you haven't already heard the record.
While looking around for a better description I came across this one posted on an internet chat group back in November of 2000 (when I was, by the way, in Paris). A swedish record collector sez:
"You know, sometimes an album that you've been wanting to hear for a very long time, when you finally lay your hands on a copy it far succeeds any expectations you had of it in the first place. One of those landed in my mailbox the other day. JADE STONE & LUV / Mosaics - Pieces of Stone, a US private press from '77. I'd only read about it on a few lists and got interested years ago, but it always seemed too expensive to give it a shot. Anyway, a copy turned up at a fair price due to it having been a radio station copy, and duly had the station's call letters in big black marker pen on the front. Not that it mattered much, though, 'cause the photo of the couple in question on the cover would've been a great candidate for inclusion in one of the "Incredible Strange Music Books"! It has to be seen to be believed!! As for the music within, well I must say that I was totally and utterly blown away by all tracks bar two (and those were at least OK). Great songs, incredibly tight backing and lots of searing and biting guitar leads. Some great string arrangements on some tracks, and the angelic choral work of Debbie Luv is superb and original. Add to this the fact that Jade Stone himself sounds A LOT like the mighty Darius himself in the vocal department. The album's ace and is really funky. Not really what you would expect from a '77 album. Stan Denski (hi!) had it in his latest list, and said that it sounded a bit like Sonny & Cher had they lived in a trailer park in Kentucky. That comment made me no wiser, but now that I've heard it I get the picture. So, get Stan's copy if it's not gone, you won't be disappointed. The final track, "Reality" is an infectious garage track with dual wah-wah guitars battling for space...."
Copies have sold for $400 in the past and this one is as mint as any out there; cover is perfect and in the shrink, ditto the shiny like-new disc.
Tracks are: Waiting for the rain / Come home with me / Working at the business of living / Backroads of my mind / Man / Grab hold / Take a look / So close / Cool breeze / Reality. SEE OUR OTHER AUCTIONS.
