JACKIE MCLEAN "Capuchin Swing" Blue Note 4038, DG, P, RVG, Mono Vinyl

This is the 1960, first edition, "RVG" stamped, Deep Groove, Laminated Cover, "P"-pressing of JACKIE MCLEAN's "Capuchin Swing" on the "47 West 63rd" labels of Blue Note BLP 4038. Musicians include Jackie McLean, Blue Mitchell, Walter Bishop, Jr., Paul Chambers, Art Taylor.

VINYL plays well, with consistent low level surface noise (i.e, static, crackle, ??,????,relative to the volume of the music/instruments), with occasional pops and ticks. Ensemble sections are very dynamic and strong with clean transients, powerful bass extension and clear tone. No Skips. No locked grooves. Good gloss, both sides. Handful of hairline marks, none feelable.  The Deep Groove "47 West 63rd" labels are clean with spindle marks. See photos.

LAMINATED COVER is in nice condition, strong inking. Corners worn, some peeling. Top Seam and spine in excellent condition, bottom seam 4" split. "BLUE NOTE RECORDS INC., 43 West 61st St., New York 23" back jacket shows wear. Please see photos.

   

This LP was play-tested on a high-end audio system. RECORD CLEANED ON ULTRASONIC AUDIO DESK SYSTEME VINYL PRO CLEANER.
