1956 Blue Note 1536.   J. R. Monterose w/ Ira Sullivan, Horace Silver, Wilber Ware and "Philly" Joe Jones. Recording by Rudy Van Gelder.

Jacket is a mess. Considerable splits and wear on all edges. Front cover has shelf wear and ring wear but still has some luster. Back cover has shelf and ring wear. Liner notes by Leonard Feather. Also has "For Complete Catalog Write to: Blue Note Records, 767 Lexington Ave., New York 21".

Replacement sleeve.

Labels are clean. Deep Groove both sides. Flat edge. The labels read:

33 1/3 Microgroove LONG PLAYING
Blue Note Records  767 Lexington Ave NYC

Dead wax has:
RVG is etched both sides
BN - LP - 1536 - A
BN - LP - 1536 - B
AND the famous "EAR" symbol

The record is thick. I see light scratches on both sides THE ONLY one that can be felt though is less than 1/4 inch at end of track one side two. Clean the record before playing for best results. Record retains luster and shine.

After collecting for 35 years as a hobby and having enjoyed it greatly it is time to start to sell my collection.

I grade visually and do not include an audio description in my auction because I don't own a record player. I have never been "over the top" on audiophile or condition but understand those that are. I try to be fair and accurate in descriptions.

Records have been stored in a safe environment. This doesn't mean that I have cleaned them for you. So please clean your purchase once you get it and play.
