from wikipedia:

Isidore Soucy learns to play violin. At fifteen, he was already the most famous violinist in his region.

In 1924, he left his village to come and try his luck in Montreal . He began recording for Starr de Romeo Beaudry in 1928. Throughout his career, he recorded nearly 600 musical pieces.

In view of the success of his first records, he is hired full-time by the CKAC radio station . He will play live every week for almost four years. At the same time, he participated in Conrad Gauthier's "Vigils of the Good Old Days" at the Monument-National, and joined accordionist Donat Lafleur, with whom he recorded many plays for nearly fifteen years.
